**SayPro Implementation Research on Noncommunicable Disease Risk Factors among Low- and Middle-Income Country and Tribal Populations Living in City Environments
Noncommunicable diseases are affecting everyone, and countries and tribes are no exception.
In order to bring awareness on the same, SayPro has launched a research program which is aimed at identifying risk factors associated with noncommunicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries and tribes living in city environments. The study will cover over 300 participants from 20 different countries, with data collected via surveys, phone interviews, face-to-face interactions and questionnaires.
From November 2017 onwards, data collection will run for 6 months. Results are scheduled to be out by March 2018. Stay tuned for more updates on this!
A progressive, yet geographically diverse coalition of global NGOs like the WHO, UNICEF, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is working tirelessly to combat noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and others. They are taking advantage of technological advancements in healthcare to reach out to the marginalized populations that may not have easy access to modern facilities or medical care.
With SayPro’s help, these groups will be able to collect information on NCD risk factors from their low- and middle-income country and tribal populations living in cities. Not only will they have a better understanding of the prevalence of NCDs within their respective regions, but they will also be able to devise strategies for preventing its spread.
So dig out that smart phone without even giving it a second thought!
You’ve heard it before – that staying active and engaging in a healthy lifestyle is the best way to keep your heart and overall health in check. However, implementing these habits can be difficult when you’re living in a city or a remote area where it’s not as easy to commute for jogging or practicing yoga.
SayPro is designing new ways to help people stay fit, no matter where they live. Through pilot projects with countries like India, Nigeria, and Brazil, SayPro has identified noncommunicable disease (NCD) risk factors among low- and middle-income country populations in urban settings. They have also correlated these patterns with those of tribal populations living in rural regions of their countries.
The results of these research initiatives are significant: by understanding environmental factors that affect NCD risk, communities can take proactive measures to maintain or increase their fitness levels. In turn, this will reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes and other conditions that are linked to reduced physical activity and sedentary lifestyles.
Have you seen the silent killer behind most chronic diseases? Is it time to take preventive measures against it?
Noncommunicable diseases such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes are on the rise. These diseases have seen a steady increase over the last few years, and no one knows why. On top of that, we are yet to understand which factors contribute to their onset. In light of this changing landscape, SayPro is all set to help change the narrative.
Description: With SayPro’s implementation research on noncommunicable disease risk factors among low- and middle-income country and tribal populations living in city environments, we’re working toward making a difference in a big way! We believe that knowledge is power, and that’s why we’re turning the tide by shedding light on what lifestyle changes you can make today to prevent these diseases in future. Along with our team of internationally acclaimed scientists, we’re conducting clinical trials on human subjects across the globe – so stay tuned for updates!
Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are now a leading cause of death worldwide. They affect people from different socio-economic backgrounds and spares no race, color, or creed. A new project aims to bring about change in this regard by conducting research on NCD risk factors among low- and middle-income country population living in cities. The project team is led by Dr. Viraj Sood, a professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR).
SayPro provides an opportunity to both the patients and physicians to have better inputs on NCD risk factors that can decrease the mortality rates of such diseases.
By participating in this research study, you not only contribute in making a difference but also earn some data entry credits.
