We at SayPro recognise and respect intellectual property rights and are committed to fulfilling SayPro moral and legal obligations concerning SayPro’s use of copyright-protected works.

STATEMENT OF ORGANISATIONS DUTIES CONCERNING COPYRIGHT

As a matter of ethical integrity and commitment to copyright law, SayPro sets forth these policies for all employees:

No employee of SayPro may reproduce or recreate any copyrighted information in print, video, voice note or digital form in violation of the law.

All the content in SayPro work and its subsidiary are protected even if not registered with the South African. Copyright Office or any registration agency outside South Africa, even if we did not add the copyright symbol (©).

The Copyrighted works include, but are not restricted to:

  • Printed articles from publications
  • Electronic articles in online publications
  • online videos and movies
  • TV and radio programs
  • Recorded music performances
  • Images and training materials
  • Manuals and documentation
  • Software programs and the database
  • Courses, lessons, and quizzes
  • Website and blog

Generally, the laws for published materials also apply to visual and digital formats such as websites, streaming media, composition downloads, mobile apps, CDs and DVDs.

SayPro holds an Annual Copyright License and Multinational Copyright License from the Copyright Clearance Agency (CCA), which enables employees of SayPro [inside and outside] South Africa to lawfully duplicate and distribute content, in print or electronic format, as needed within the company.

Under 1 2, the license SayPro employees can copy and inside distribute excerpts from newspapers, magazines, papers and other copyright-protected works licensed by Copyright Clearance Agency, as often as required, provided that the license may not be used as a replacement for subscriptions or first acquisitions of the issued resources.

Workers can also e-mail articles of interest to other employees, share items by posting them on SayPro company websites, shop articles in shared folders, and scan content when a digital original is not available.

This license allows employees to provide a single print or electronic copy to a client or prospect upon his or her direct appeal for further information relating to SayPro products or services and to submit copies to government agencies as required to support regulatory submissions.

Please note that the license relates only to the works in CCA’s online catalogue and that, except for the limited external uses defined above, the rights provided are for inside use at SayPro only. [Additional language if the organisation holds a Reproduction Picture License separately or in combination with the Annual Copyright License] SayPro holds a Reproduction Picture License (“RPL”) from the Copyright Clearance Agency, which enables employees of SayPro in South Africa to show copyright-protected videos, movies and TV shows (“Videos”) for employee training, internal sales demonstrations and business meetings, as needed within the business.

Under the license, employees may demonstrate Videos by the listed theatrical distributors and producers from ANY officially obtained source, including DVDs bought at retail, videos downloaded from iTunes or videos played from websites like hulu.com™ and Netflix™ that are authorised outlets of motion picture content and TV shows.

To confirm if a Video is covered under the MPL, simply define who the supplier of the video is and consider it up in the providers and producers list available at southernafricayouth.org).

To obtain permission to copy copyrighted works outside of SayPro or to use such works in ways that are not protected by SayPro license or other prior agreements, employees should request authorisations online at www.southernafricayouth.org or contact the Rights and Licensing Department of the copyright holder.

Questions on specific processes should be directed to the Chief Executive Officer, who serves as SayPro copyright officer. SayPro designates Chief Executive Officer as the copyright officer to administer SayPro company’s copyright policy.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

 SayPro expects its employees to be liable consumers of copyrighted materials.

We also urge employees to educate their colleagues on copyright compliance.
