Operators will need to follow the SOPs (standard operating procedures) for each piece of equipment they’re responsible for. Show learners these procedures, and make sure they understand the procedures.Generally the start-up procedure requires manual control of the equipment to load each section in order, before switching to automatic operation. Operators will probably need to stop and check the first few bottles before continuing on automatic.Start-up procedures could include:

1. Check for warning lights on equipment controller.

2. Set labeller to manual operation.

3. Use inching control to slowly move bottles through labeller.

4. When in-feed magazine is full, turn onto slow speed.

5. Check labelled bottles to make sure labels and glue are being applied correctly, for example, glue is not too thick, labels are being picked up one at a time, and labels are not wrinkled and are drying in the right amount of time.

6. When labeller appears to be working correctly, switch to full automatic mode and adjust speed.

A method for operating a labelling machine includes, at a first inspection unit, detecting feature coordinates of a design feature of a container, transferring the feature coordinates to a second inspection unit that follows a labelling assembly, and at the second inspection unit, while synchronizing the feature coordinates of the design feature, inspecting the container for correct label seating by tracking the feature coordinates of the design feature along a conveying path from the first inspection unit to said second inspection unit.
