What do you do when someone comes to you with questions about their sexuality? Or when they ask for help in understanding gender based violence? How do you lend an ear without judging or shaming them? The SayPro initiative helps people like these, by providing them with the support they need. It’s a grassroots movement that comes from the heart, and aims to change the world for the better by empowering GBV survivors in Africa. After conducting a survey on its users, SayPro has discovered that half of them have witnessed violence against STIs, and 70% have experienced physical abuse. How did you guess, 80% have been victims of rape or have had family members who have been affected by it!

The fight against gender-based violence is taking a global scale, and Saypro’s is no stranger to this. The organisation has been providing support to GBV survivors in Africa since 2014.

They understand that these crimes have a tremendous impact on society and its victims, leaving deep wounds that are difficult to heal.
