In a world where we’re constantly being told to look within, it’s refreshing to see such a collective effort taking place. Every day, SayPro collects donations that go towards helping GBV survivors in Southern Africa. The aim is to raise at least $1000 per month, and the response so far has been incredible! With over 60% of those surveyed indicating they are willing to donate monthly or more, it’s clear that many individuals believe in this cause and want to help make a difference. This is why we’ve created SayPro – because we want every dollar you contribute to be able to reach those who need it most!
When we say ‘gender based violence’ in India, it usually refers to crimes against women. But what if we told you that the same term is commonly used to describe crimes committed against men and boys?
It’s true that GBV affects everyone, irrespective of gender or age. Still, the world sees women as the most vulnerable victims when it comes to gender-based violence. This is why we decided to partner with SayPro, a project that aims to support GBV survivors in Southern Africa. Founded by Alina Mungroo, SayPro has been working towards providing them with quality healthcare and counseling services.
From organizing meetings and workshops on various topics related to sexual assault, to providing free medial services like STI tests and chemotherapy sessions, SayPro is making a difference in people’s lives by ensuring they have access to reliable health care at all times.
We all know that raising a kid is expensive. But when one sees ‘GBV’ in it, it makes every penny count. That’s why SayPro has decided to support the cause and fund-raise for it by donating 10% of its proceeds.
SayPro is a breath of fresh air in the world of online shopping. It doesn’t just sell products, but also gives back to the community through various charity initiatives. This time around, SayPro is going all-out for the GBV initiative by providing much-needed support and guidance to those affected by GBV in South Africa.
When a woman is raped, she is not just assaulted physically, but also emotionally and mentally. She feels un-safe, scared, and insecure. SayPro recognizes this and has come up with a solution that helps in providing the girl with support system on various levels. The self- confidence building workshops they conduct are one such initiative that builds a strong platform for the girl to take next step and rebuild her life.
The SayPro team has played an active role in facilitating these workshops across Souther Africa, contributing to the cause of justice for all victims without discrimination of gender or caste.
The world has become a global village where we interact with people from various parts of the world and share ideas and thoughts. However, there are many people who stay in their comfort zones and never step out to connect with others. One such mind-blowing phenomenon is gender-based violence (GBV).
How does the world look on this painful issue? What is being done to change it? Who is working tirelessly to change the mindset of people regarding GBV? These are some of the questions that SayPro tries to answer through its ‘SayPro 10 Charities Initiative’.
