It’s time to break the silence surrounding sexual violence and abuse. The Global Campaign to End Sexual Violence is calling on everyone to join the fight against this global crime. And one of the key ways you can do that is by donating money or resources to helplines in Africa, which provide vital support to survivors.

One such helpline is SayPro, an initiative run by a team of ten colorful CBOs that has been providing support and resources to GBV survivors in Sub-Saharan Africa for over 15 years. In that time, they have helped countless people heal from their trauma, unlearn harmful behaviors, and find new ways of living life without fear or shame.

Whether it’s through counseling sessions or access to medical services and other support services, SayPro is there for them every step of the way. And now they’re asking for your help! By supporting SayPro, you are helping change lives for the better – and making sure no one else has to suffer in silence like so many others before them.

You’re halfway through your day and you realize that something is not right. You can’t quite figure it out, until a friend connects the dots. That friend is probably a SayPro user, and they’ve been sharing their experiences via the app to help people understand what it’s like to live with GBV.

When we started SayPro, our goal was to build a community where people could share their experiences and get support from others who understand what they are going through. We want people all over the world to know that they are not alone when facing these challenges. So whether you’re living in Africa or in Europe, you can join us and say that you are a part of SayPro!

The battle for gender equality is far from over, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa where women continue to face a myriad of challenges on a daily basis. One such challenge is the harm caused by gender-based violence (GBV). The SayPro project aims to change the narrative around this issue and address the problem with an integrated approach.

The SayPro 10 program involves 10 leading CBOs across Sub-Saharan Africa and focuses on GBV survivors as well as their family members. These organizations provide comprehensive support services that help women and children overcome the trauma of sexual abuse and other forms of violence. In addition to medical care, counseling, and social services, they run schools, community programs, and special camps that are specifically geared towards providing safety for women and girls during times of crisis.

We salute these incredible organizations for their unwavering commitment to helping those in need!

In the battle against gender-based violence, SayPro is lending its support. The nonprofit organization has partnered with 10 big CBOs in Sub-Saharan Africa to provide holistic care for GBV survivors.

SayPro believes that by providing holistic care, survivors can rebuild their lives and regain their health and well-being. Through a variety of services, from counseling to job training, SayPro is helping them rebuild their lives – one day at a time.

In a world where women are over-sexualized and abused, it’s pretty disturbing to hear that they are subjected to GBV. Sub-Saharan Africa is home to several countries where such crimes happen with impunity. And yet, there are groups fighting every day to change things.

About 6 years ago, SayPro was started by a group of volunteers who wanted to do something about this problem. In just a decade, SayPro has achieved tremendous success in changing the mindset of criminals and raising awareness about the issue. Their model is simple and effective: first they train law enforcers on how to detect and investigate GBV cases effectively, and then they deploy their 10 biggest CBOs (Child Observation Teams) across the country. These teams consist of 2-3 people who have experience with child or adolescent mentoring or guidance (they could be parents or friends), some knowledge about the local lingo, and the ability to deal with traumatized children in an intricately complex environment.
