Description

In a nutshell, it’s about encouraging youth to be economically active. Youth Economic Empowerment Strategy is a 1-year initiative that aims to engage the youth of Kwa-Zulu Natal in meaningful employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Through intensive workshops, skill-development programs, mentoring programs and more, we’re working hard to improve their skills and equip them with the necessary resources so they can thrive in our economy. We know that engagement is paramount to sustainable growth, so we want to make sure that all youth have access to information and resources that will help them take full advantage of the opportunities available to them.

Youth engagement is the best way to achieve sustainable economic growth and development in a country. According to a recent report by the United Nations, engaging youth in development is one of the key components of the Youth Economic Empowerment Strategy.

We take pride in being part of this ambitious initiative. We believe that if we can reach out to these young minds and teach them basic financial literacy, then they can go out and empower themselves while building an economically strong nation.

Together we can build a future that is sustainable, prosperous and where youth are engaged in its growth and prosperity.

By empowering young people, we aim to raise awareness about opportunities available in the youth economy and encourage greater involvement. This is why SayPro is such an important part of our Economic Empowerment Strategy.

Through SayPro, you can learn more about potential career paths and develop skills that will help you succeed in any job.

Another way youth engagement is taking place is through SayPro’s Youth Business Development Centre (YDBC). The YDBC is a hub for entrepreneurship, training, mentoring, and support that helps young people launch successful businesses. And it’s run by the very people who understand what it takes to make that happen: young entrepreneurs themselves.

Youth development is key to improving the growth and sustainability of a region. With the KZN Youth Economic Empowerment Strategy, we are working towards making sure that our youth have access to meaningful employment, education and resources that will enable them to become leaders of tomorrow.

But how do you engage youth in these processes? Through SayPro! The SayPro campaign encourages young people to take part in developing their community by getting involved in local activities. From volunteering at a soup kitchen or helping out at an after school programme, to launching their own business, they’re making a difference.

From the Mayor’s office on down, we’re all committed to seeing this strategy through and making sure that our youth are able to develop into the leaders of tomorrow. So join us!

Youth unemployment is a global phenomenon that has far-reaching consequences, including poor future employment prospects and decreased life satisfaction. Although the KZN Youth Economic Empowerment Strategy was launched with the aim of reducing youth unemployment rates in the province, more work needs to be done to ensure that we are reaching those who need it most. That’s why we’ve partnered with SayPro – an online platform that enables youth across the globe to turn their passions into profit – to launch SayPro How South Africa, a community where youth can share their ideas and experiences on how they’re engaging with economic empowerment in their local area.

Hosted at our Head Office in Johannesburg on 23rd April 2018 from 10am to 6pm, this event will be attended by some of the brightest minds in South African Youth Engagement.
