Medical Teams needs to scale its donor base and revenue to grow our global programming to meet the rising crisis of displaced peoples around the world. To that end, Medical Teams is seeking a winsome, strategic mobilizer and networker to lead the team to engage thousands of donors through equipping champions and building partnerships.

The Engagement Manager will be the leader to develop and execute strategies to scale champions and partners through campaigns, events, and donor collectives. The role will build partnerships with organizations to help broaden awareness about Medical Teams, as well as create and execute campaigns that equip donor champions to rally others to provide support. The role partners and leads cross-functionally within the Marketing and Development team to successfully grow impact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute fundraising campaigns that engage donors at scale such as Peer-to-peer campaigns, crowd funding campaigns, etc.
  • Build and manage program budgets for all donor events and peer-to-peer campaigns including but not limited to the Healthy Women, Healthy World movement and Field of Dreams Dinner and Auction when applicable.
  • Organize and direct staff to recruit and support donors to engage in campaigns and attend events.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including VP Marketing and Development, and event consultants to develop compelling mission-focused programs.
  • Supervise engagement team staff, empowering them to create and execute opportunities for donors to become committed to and inspired by Medical Teams, including but not limited to; large events, smaller initiatives, virtual events, digital campaigns; opportunities to connect with Field Operations staff, executive leadership, other donors; and vision trips.
  • Analyze reports and metrics to make tactical and strategic decisions that lead to greater rate of return on events, campaigns, and initiatives.
  • Forecast revenue for campaigns, events, and initiatives.
  • Work closely with marketing and communications to ensure campaigns, programs, and events represent and enhance the brand, as well as include creative content that increases visibility, revenue, and attendance/ engagement.
  • Secure partnerships with organizations and conferences that provide Medical Teams with a platform to raise awareness and funds with new audiences. This includes negotiating partnerships that include keynote opportunities that include a call-to-actions.
  • Lead the Engagement Staff to execute events and campaigns with precision and timeliness.
  • Act as liaison for donors and vendors with accounting department, coordinate or prepare requested requisitions for vendor payments, including monitoring accuracy of invoices and resolving payment and billing issues.
  • In collaboration with Marketing & Development leadership, research conference, church, and other speaking opportunities in a growth market.
  • Continue to manage campaigns once launched to ensure initiatives continue to increase net revenue and represent the brand.
  • Continuously learn about new ways to mobilize and engage donors at scale.
  • Ensure the Safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.

Other Duties:

  • Utilize volunteers when appropriate.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in related field.
  • May substitute degree for equivalent work experience in related field.
  • Valid driver license.

EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Minimum 4 years of fundraising experience or equivalent relevant experience in related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of Experience in event management or equivalent relevant experience in related field.
  • Minimum 2 years managing staff experience or equivalent relevant experience in related field.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • Experience mobilizing donors to do peer-to-peer campaigns.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Knowledge:

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communications skills to interact with different audiences.
  • Moderately skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic user skills with Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Working knowledge of Communication software: Microsoft Outlook, Intranet, Internet, Teams, and Zoom.

Preferred:

  • Moderately skilled with CRM Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools such as Click Dimensions/ Emma, Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop and InDesign).
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Flow, Project).
  • Understanding of Form and Survey tools such as Cognito Forms, Microsoft Forms, or Typeform Surveys.
  • Moderately skilled with donor engagement software such as Salsa, Classy, Better Unite, Donately, Kindful, Greater Giving, etc.
  • Moderately skilled with any event management software.

Abilities:

  • Ability to plan, organize and follow through on all projects.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate partnerships with conferences and influencers.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be flexible.
  • Ability to operate well in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and weekends as needed, with occasional periods of high overtime.
  • Ability to travel to and work from other US Medical Teams offices in the Pacific Northwest as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing, with all constituents, including but not limited to major donors, celebrities/influencers, high corporate leaders, volunteers, employees, and guests.
  • Ability to lead meetings with upper-level management, other employees, and donors.
  • Ability to manage staff cross-departmentally toward results.
