**SayPro 16 Days of Activism: Combatting Gender-based Violence is Essential for HIV Response

We spend a lot of time and energy raising awareness about gender-based violence, but what about the link between HIV and gender-based violence? When you think about it, it makes sense: Individuals who are subjected to gender-based violence are at a greater risk of becoming infected with HIV. And once they are infected, they’re more likely to transmit the virus to others.

But how can we help break this vicious cycle? The SayPro campaign wants to do just that – by sending a clear message that gender- Violence is not tolerated and will not be accepted no matter what.

Gender-based violence and stigma are key barriers to HIV and AIDS responses and survival. When it comes to preventing this violence, many organizations focus on programs that educate or provide services. But SayPro has a different approach: they’re committed to fighting gender-based violence by empowering communities with the resources they need to take action.

With 16 days of activism, SayPro is calling attention to the importance of gender-based violence in HIV responses and spreading understanding about why this is important. During World AIDS Day on December 1, SayPro is encouraging people around the world to participate in this effort by posting photos of their signs using hashtags #Day1and #Day16 – together, we’ll end gender-based violence!

Gender-based violence is a global epidemic, with millions of women and children affected by it every year. Yet, its impact on HIV response is often overlooked. In order to effectively combat gender-based violence and increase the reach of HIV services, it’s essential that we come together as one.

SayPro is proud to support 16 Days of Activism: Combatting Gender-based Violence is Essential for HIV Response. Through our commitment to empowering women and girls, we are working towards making a difference in the world around us.

From 1-16 November 2017, saypro is organizing an online campaign called 16 Days of Activivity: Combatting Gender-Based Violence is Essential for HIV Response – a monthlong initiative to raise awareness about the importance of combatting gender-based violence in relation to HIV/AIDS responses around the world. By joining this movement and taking action against gender-based violence in your community, you are helping save lives!

Gender-based violence is a global health crisis that affects every community and every person differently. It takes on different forms in different cultures and geographies, but the one thing that all forms of gender-based violence have in common is that they have devastating effects on the human body and psyche. In some places, these effects are visible; in others, they’re less visible but no less significant.

In any case, it is vital to work towards its eradication so as to protect those who are most vulnerable. The SayPro team has joined hands with UNICEF to combat gender-based violence, and want you to join them! Together we will make a difference for the future of our children by fighting gender- Violence! Let us stand together for an end to gender-based violence and promote gender equality across the globe.

16 Days is the period when gender-based violence takes place most frequently. SayPro understands this and wants to make a difference for the women across the world by contributing towards its prevention and eradication.

Joined with us in this noble effort, we hope to see more change in days to come.
