**SayPro Diepsloot Youth Project is based in Diepsloot, an informal settlement located in the northern part of Johannesburg, South Africa. Academic research has found that Diepsloot has some of the highest prevalence rates of GBV in South Africa.[3] Diepsloot is very densely populated with limited access to resources and service delivery. Diepsloot is also a very transitional community with individuals residing in Diepsloot for employment purposes with no intention to stay permanently. As a result, the population is quite diverse with a percentage of residence being foreign nationals.

Youth are the future of our country, and SayPro understands this completely. We want to empower them, teach them, and give them the hands-on experience that they need in order to change the world for the better. That’s why we created Diepsloot Youth Project.

Diepsloot Youth Project is an academic research-based program focused on addressing the gender-based violence (GBV) challenges that face young girls and women in South Africa. The project teaches valuable life skills like communication, conflict resolution, and financial literacy through fun classroom activities. It aims to provide survivors with access to comprehensive services so they can rebuild their lives safely. And it works with local authorities to improve security measures at schools so parents feel safe sending their children to school.

In partnership with SayPro, we can change lives by empowering tomorrow’s leaders today!

Saypro is a youth project that aims to change the lives of teenage girls in Diepsloot through education, health and empowerment. Youth who join Saypro are provided with a full-time mentor who is trained to teach them personal development, life skills and education. They also receive support on issues such as mental health, reproductive health and gender equality within their community.

Youth empowerment is not just about getting the youth to get involved in the various activities going on in a community, but also helping them secure employment opportunities. SayPro Youth Project is a non-profit organization that aims to empower South African girls and boys by providing them with the resources they need to make informed decisions about their lives and futures.

Our programs offer girls and boys the skills they need to succeed in school and in careers, while also equipping them with the tools they need to build a future beyond themselves.

SayPro Diepsloot Youth Project is a leading non-profit that works to end gender-based violence and empower women and girls in the informal settlement.

Says Pro Diepsloot Youth Project is committed to eradicating gender-based violence and empowering women, through programs that promote health, human rights, and education. You can support our work by donating today!

We cannot deny that the stereotypical image of a man in South Africa is riddled with crime and violence. Have you ever wondered why? It’s because we have a lot of crime and violence in our minds. It’s because we think that way, we plan ways to be secure and safe! And if this sounds familiar, it should. Because every girl has a dream about a secure world without crime and violence, where girls can walk safely to school or work without being harassed on the streets. SayPro is changing these images through their Diepsloot Youth Project.

Founded in 2015 by Jodie Sid said, SayPro’s main focus is to promote gender equality by empowering women and girls to take control of their lives. Through various initiatives such as providing education, health services, business support and employment opportunities, SayPro hopes to create positive change in the lives of women and girls living in informal settlements like Diepsloot.
