Currently the funding for the project comes from private donations and corporate sponsorship. Diepsloot Youth Project have begun experimenting with additional income-generating opportunities, including a low-cost learner fee similar to how Diepsloot Youth Project operate Diepsloot Youth Project adult education programs.  It’s important to note that this fee is not for access to the Khan Academy (which is free), but to cover the operational costs of the local facilitator, lesson notes and the centre. There will of course be a number of learners who cannot afford even a low-cost option and Diepsloot Youth Project invite learner sponsorships to either supplement or fully cover the costs.
