The primary aim of the position is to develop high-quality data visualization products including maps and graphs, and effectively manage the database as well as the registration process of the partners.The successful candidate will have a strong background in GIS and Information Management, be inquisitive and detail-oriented, and have significant experience building and leading high-performing teams.
- Produce high quality maps, graphs, and other products to support analysis and facilitate NGOs’ understanding of the security situation.
- Identify map information needs and sources in collaboration with the Research & Analysis and Programme teams.
- Collect geographical data for analysis and presentation.
- Provide GIS-relevant inputs on field missions intended to gather data for outputs, including maps.
Conflict & Humanitarian Data Centre (CHDC)
- Ensure that the information contained in the database of incidents collected is correctly classified, updated quickly, and easily accessible for its users.
- Monitor the accuracy and quality of data collected by the Programme team.
- Apply proof-reading methods to verify the entered incident data against the original requirements
Technical Support
- Closely work with the Programme department to understand and respond to their needs.
- Train the Safety Advisor, the Deputy Safety Advisor, the Assistant Safety Advisor, or any other position with data-entry responsibilities on Database Management.
- Manage and regularly update SharePoint folders with relevant materials.
- Elaborate materials for advertising services under the guidance of the correspondent departments.
- Assist in the implementation of IT and information policies.
- The holder must safeguard the access of information by unauthorized parties.
