ACTED France (HQ)

ACTED’s headquarter has been established in Paris in 2000 to coordinate the organization’s interventions on a more global scale. Today the HQ is composed of around 100 people in the HR, Finance, Programs, Audit, Security, Logistics & Systems and Communication departments. These departments provide support to the missions on the field (in 37 countries) composed of 430 expatriates and more than 4,800 national staff. The HQ in also the focal point for ACTED’s upper management, including the CEO, the Director of Development and the fifteen members of the Board of Directors.

You will be in charge of

Under the supervision of the Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Manager, the Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is in charge of the design, configuration and availability of all ACTED Global IT infrastructure.

1. Management of ACTED Global IT infrastructure

  • Frame and manage projects and internal or service provider’s resources related to the upgrade of the Global IT infrastructure
  • Configure all IT stack from hardware to software
  • Update and maintain operating procedures
  • Ensure maintenance of systems (security updates & major upgrades)
  • Implement backup policies and business continuity plans
  • Ensure that software licensing management and compliance
  • Manage endpoints, software catalog and application packaging
  • Automate anything repetitive that’s also cost-effective to automate or eliminate

2. Design a scalable and resilience global IT infrastructure

  • Design product specifications, contractual requirements and technology stacks related to all technical architectures
  • Collaborate closely with development teams and promote a culture of resilient system design
  • Implement ACTED Information Security Policy in all system designs
  • Enforce a sound cloud financial management discipline (FinOps) by ensuring that cloud services costs are under control at any time
  • Develop a standard technology stack that can be reused across the organization
  • Proactively identify gaps in existing systems documentation and update documentation accordingly

3. Monitoring and incident management

  • Ensure constant system monitoring, raise alerts on any new vulnerabilities and propose solutions to the Infrastructure & Cyber-security Manager;
  • Create, centralize and consolidate reports from the infrastructure and network of ACTED’s global sites
  • Design, update and implement dashboards to monitor systems performance
  • Assist IT helpdesk team with automation and provide level 2 support for tickets that require escalation
  • Be a key actor in the IT incident management process by being first responder during IT incident and coordinate response with all stakeholders
  • Perform remediation actions and follow-up post-incident action plans

4. Support change management

  • Ensure constant technological monitoring and perform active search of innovative solutions and service providers
  • Contribute to change management and training of IT teams in the field
  • Design training materials, tutorials & user manuals for all field IT solutions and systems
  • Contribute to the development a culture of IT security across all departments

Expected skills and qualifications

  • IT background and at least a BAC+5 qualification
  • Strong proficiency with system administration in Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), virtualization and containerization (Docker)
  • Experience with designing and managing cloud native applications with microservices patterns (Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, …)
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps automation : CI/CD pipelines, secret management, monitoring
  • Fluency in at least a scripting language: Bash/Python/Powershell + API/Webhooks
  • Expertise preferred in Microsoft Azure platform IaaS and PaaS solutions (AKS, SQL, Redis, Elastic, Blob storages, …)
  • Knowledge of networking / firewalling and general cybersecurity controls (ANSSI, CIS20, …)
  • Ability to write technical and promote official documents and standards
  • Rigorous, autonomous and organised, solution-oriented
  • Fluency in English & French required

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the ACTED salary grid depending on education level, expertise
