EDUCATION OF EMPLOYEESThis step is critical to the QIP, as all employees need to have access to the different types of training that will be required. Just as you are receiving this training in terms of quality management principles, so should every one of your employees receive the necessary education to be able to use these tools for the QIP. A program should be established for the training of the individuals and for specific training of QIT members and other key managers. Training should also be planned in Cost of Quality and Corrective Action. Plan and implement an educational program for suppliers of materials and external plant hire. Induction of new employees at the beginning of their employment should include quality training.This step serves to provide a common understanding of the Absolutes of Quality Management, and provides the right education for each employee to carry out his responsibilities in the QIP.Quality education is a continuous process starting with top management and working its way through the entire company. Members of the QIT must be thoroughly trained in the 14-step process and its implementation. All employees must be familiar with the four Absolutes and their role in the QIP. Once education has been established, every employee can contribute to the success of the Quality Improvement process.
