Vacancy announcementGroup of Helping Hands (SAHAS) Nepal is a non-profit making non-governmental-organization founded in 1996 by a team of professional development workers, who for many years had been involved in Rural Development Programs. The organization has since then successfully implemented various projects in the sectors of sustainable agriculture and food security, natural resource management, climate change, community empowerment, social mobilization, lobby and advocacy, civic education, disaster response and reconstruction and infrastructure (water, sanitation, roads and bridges) development. At present, the organization is implementing several projects in a total of 22 districts of Nepal. "Climate Resilient Livelihoods for Vulnerable and Marginalized Communities of Dailekh and Surkhet Districts of Karnali Province" is being implemented by SAHAS Nepal in Dailekh and Surkhet districts. The project strive for making a climate resilient Palikas by creating the entire Palika an environmentally sustainable, economically sound, and climate resilient. This project aims to improve livelihoods of vulnerable and marginalized communities through the use of inclusive and equitable and sustainable and climate-resilient interventions.SAHAS Nepal is looking the potential candidates for the following positions:1. Position: Project CoordinatorRequired number: 1Academic qualification/experiences:Masters in agriculture or environment scienceExperience of minimum of 2 years in food security and nutrition or sustainable agriculture Experience of project management including planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting, and developing proposals. Excellent written and verbal communication in EnglishMajor responsibilities:Management of project plan and budget and review periodicallyFacilitate to develop the staff capacity to implement the project including developing their understanding and capacity to implement project activitiesMonitor the progress of project related to food security and nutrition in accordance with output and outcome indicators and submit quality report on timely basisPrepare and submit compiles data, events, human interest stories, challenges and lesson learnt to publish periodic reportsPrepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual project reports and financial report Linkage and network with province level departments and ministries, and I/NGOs for coordination and cooperation.Organise workshop at Province level government and stakeholders.Participate in organisational level meetings and seminars.2. Position: Climate Change OfficerRequired number: 1Academic qualification/experiences:Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, environment, development studies from recognized university with at least two years experience in relevant field or Master’s degree prefer in relevant fieldGood skill in community development, empowerment, networking, lobby and advocacyGood communication and analytical skillsKnowledge on financial management and staff supervision and developmentGood coordination, communication with community and different stakeholdersFluent in oral and written Nepali and English languageGood coordination skills and efficient team playerMajor responsibilities:Provide technical support to the district project team in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the field activities in line with the project goal and objectivesKeep all the project staffs updated on project requirement; implementation guideline, tools and procedure for their understanding and usePrepare and submit monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually report to the focal personReview project budget, track the expenditure of budget regularly Organise review meeting of the project at district, identify the gaps and issues and take the action accordingly for the further improvementCoordinate with rural municipality level line agencies and like-minded organizations to develop the synergy in programsAssist in the financial and administrative matter such as procurement process, human resource management and staff performance evaluation3. Position: Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) OfficerRequired number: 1Academic qualification/experiences:Bachelor degree in Social Science/Rural Development or equivalent from a recognized university with at least 2 years of working experiences in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL)Fluent in oral and written Nepali and English languageStrong analytical and critical thinkerGood coordination skills and efficient team plyerGood knowledge on program monitoring and data collections, data analysis and reportingProficiency in MS Office and demonstrated skills in statistical packages such as SPSSMajor responsibilities:Organize periodic review and reflection meetingsOrganize capacity building of project staff on M&E methodologies and other relevant trainings as per the requirementSupport the project team in documenting results and learnings, and ensure all reporting requirements are fulfilled in a timely mannerSupport to Project Coordinator for preparing and reviewing donor reports as per the requirementsMEAL Officer will be responsible for the overall M&E functions of the projectEnsure that a MEAL plan is implemented and required data are mentioned in SAHAS Nepal MEAL Systems for reporting and support for an informed decisionAssist project team in project planning, adopting monitoring tools, setting up timelines and measuring progressAssist project team in the execution of project indicators, baseline and targets, means of verificationWork closely with Project Officers to ensure that impact, outcome and output level indicators are reported and monitoredCollection of relevant data, development of case studies, pictures and video documentationCoordination baseline, midline and end-line survey and prepare reports4. Position: Advocacy and Partnership OfficerRequired number: 1Academic qualification/experiences:Bachelor degree in social science or equivalent with 2 years’ experience social mobilization and community development Experience in working in advocacy and coordination with Rural/MunicipalityExperience of collection of issue and documentation, and case studyGood coordination skills and efficient team playerExcellent writing report and communication in English and NepaliMajor Responsibilities:Support to Community Based Network Organisation (CBNO) for organization development Strengthen CBNOs capacity to lobby and advocacy, and social, economic and cultural rightsLinkage among CBNOs, Rural/Municipality and non-government organization for resources leverage etc.Support for preparing the proposal to local government and other development agencyMonitor, Prepare and submit progress report regularlyCollection of issue and documentation of case studyFacilitate to prepare and implement CBNOs strategic plan, guideline and policies Facilitate to develop act, policy and guideline for Rural Municipality 5. Position: Admin and Finance OfficerRequired number: 1Academic qualification/experiences:BBS or BBA Accounts with 2 years experience in Finance and Administrative worksExcellent computer skills in Excel, Ms-Word, Power point, skills in Accounting SoftwareStrong commitment to team work with effective communicationMotivating leadership, interpersonal skills in languages and efficient team playerMajor responsibilities:Budget preparation and implementation Implementation of the compliance of the government, funding partner and the organizationMaintain financial accounts, records daily and financial managementDay to day logistic and administrationFinancial reporting, analysis, monitoring and follow up of project activities Maintain safety, secure of the project assets, stock, and keep records of personal files, tax, Social Security Fund etc.Conduct basic book keeping training and follow-up to Community based organizations (CBNOs) 6.
