Job Description

REQUIREMENTS: Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council in Terms of Government Notice 425, (i.e. Diploma/ Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse plus a post basic qualification in Nursing Education registered with SANC. A minimum of nine (09) years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least five (05) years of the period referred to above must be appropriate / recognizable experience in Nursing Education after obtaining the 1 year post basic Nursing Education qualification. Proof of current registration with SANC (2022). Recommendations: Ability to function independently and to prioritize work. Leadership and sound interpersonal skills, problem solving and decision making skills. Good supervisory and teaching skills. Experience after registration with SANC in Nursing Education after obtaining R118 in Nursing Education will be an added advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication. NB: Any previous experience must be covered by the attachment of certificate of services. DUTIES: Manage registration, recording of learning and completion of learning program. Manage the examination processes, develop and implementation of quality assurance programs. Collaboration with other stakeholders as well as supporting the mission and vision of the college. Coordinate and manage students’ selection processes. Conduct research in own field. Guide, supervise and evaluate performance of administration and academic staff working under him/her and that of students. Compile, keep records and reports of his/her span of control. Implement national, provincial and institutional policies relevant to the discipline. Promote team work amongst team members. Be willing to travel in and out of the province.
