  • SayPro SET Human Capital Development Office

    SayPro will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the SET Human Programmes to ensure that the organisation has a pool of appropriately qualified employees. The programmes include but are not limited to Postgraduate SET Qualifications Enhancement, Post-doctoral Research Fellowship, Bursary, Internship, In-Service, and Young Researcher Programmes. Responsible for developing strategies and plans for the Schools Outreach programme.

    Facilitate and coordinate the development of all SET Human Capital Programmes, including career development activities to support the organisation’s talent management; Develop strategies and plans for the Schools Outreach programme; Conduct research into pipeline management/capacity building to establish relevant trends; Consult with Executive Managers to assess and document the business needs; Monitor the implementation of portfolio programmes and guide the refinement of processes for continuous improvement. Administer SET Human Capital Programme funding agreements as per requirements; Manage the relationship between Mintek and SET Human Capital Programme stakeholders (DMRE, DSI, MQA, NRF, HSRC, HEIs, etc.) Develop and implement an information management and reporting system for this portfolio;
  • SayPro Planning And Reporting Office

    To facilitate and coordinate strategic, operational and business planning across the organisation. To support the development of processes, systems and tools for institutional planning and reporting.Facilitate and coordinate the development and review of the organisational strategy; Lead the institutional planning process, which includes forecasting KPIs for planning, target setting and performance management. Provide inputs into the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) submission. Ensure that systems and tools are in place to consolidate organisational strategic and annual performance plans. Develop planning guidelines and templates to facilitate the development of divisional business plans; Raise awareness of the institutional planning framework, processes and practices. Review and provide improvement strategies for existing business processes and automation solutions, including data centralisation, to manage performance information and reporting. Ensure compliance to statutory reporting requirements; Performs timeous identification and management of strategic planning and operational risks. Coordinate the compilation of the shareholder’s compact and annual report; Consolidate and prepare the Mintek quarterly reports (including quarterly KPI forecast reports) and presentations to ensure timely statutory reporting;

Plan, develop and implement effective processes, systems and tools for good research quality; Raise awareness on policies and best practices for research excellence; Conduct the necessary studies over the research infrastructure lifecycle phases. Develop and refine a comprehensive set of indicators for the utilisation and maintenance of infrastructure; Conduct regular reviews of the state of research infrastructure; Perform standard national and international benchmarks to improve research quality continually. Establish appropriate oversight structures across the various phases of the research infrastructure lifecycle; Establish review panels to provide research quality assurance; Monitor and report on research infrastructure and quality risk exposures.

Contribute to the development and implementation of plans to grow revenue to support R&D and the related research infrastructure; Design and implement systems and processes for effective and efficient R&D management (ideation and idea management, stage-gate project management, portfolio management, research data and information management, resource and competence management, etc.); In partnership with senior management, identify gaps and develop synergistic programmes that promote and enhance the research and innovation capacity and capability of the technical complement in ; Ensure the function is adequately resourced with the right skills at all levels; Deliver on the function’s KPIs; Establish efficient and effective internal and external review panels to provide research quality assurance; In partnership with the leadership of technical divisions, implement initiatives that will enhance visibility and networks; Ensure client (internal and external) satisfaction as per agreed targets;
