Job description

  • We need a talented, experienced and creative content writer to join our Marketing team and ensure the compilation of quality content for Medihelp’s stakeholder groups and the various communication mediums used in the communications department, and to assist in the execution of the communication and public relations strategy.
  • Responsible for content generation and copywriting through the following actions:
  • Compile suitable and relevant content for all communication mediums and stakeholder groups;
  • Adapt content to appeal to various target audiences and ensure content is aligned with the Medihelp brand;
  • Conduct research to ensure content is aligned with industry and marketing trends;
  • Generate original and innovative copy for various initiatives and drives;
  • Obtain input and sign-off from relevant role players and subject specialists; and
  • Compile relevant articles for Medihelp’s magazine.
  • Compile and implement communication plans to execute communication and public relations strategies.
  • Create suitable content and copy for the execution of communication plans.
  • Compile suitable content for print and digital platforms targeting stakeholder groups.
  • Proofread guides, pamphlets and communication material generated for stakeholders.
  • Report on activities and progress.
  • Ensure adherence to all legislative and regulatory prescripts.
  • Continuously evaluate plans, actions and resources to ensure that objectives are achieved.

Requirements

  • A three-year tertiary or equivalent qualification in journalism or content generation for communication platforms.
  • Six years’ relevant experience in communication, editing, publishing or journalism.
  • Must have knowledge and professional experience of the theory, practice and techniques of communication/journalism and writing compelling content for various communication and marketing channels.
  • Knowledge of cross-cultural communication and facilitation of diverse communication needs.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work on several projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker.
  • Exceptional in all aspects of verbal and written communication both in English and Afrikaans.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Possess a valid K53 driving licence.
  • Exceptional skills in all aspects of verbal and written communication.
  • High tolerance for stress and pressure.
