Being a new entrant in the market, SayPro has impressed us with its vast knowledge and expertise and has been able to put together a youth project that is holistic and sustainable. Diepsloot Youth Project is run by SayPro, an organization that is passionate about giving back to society.

This project found 70 individuals who were willing to grow their own food for themselves and neighbours. SayPro identified 70 households that were still dependent on the government for food security. SayPRO provided them with crop seeds, water pump, fertilizer, and other tools required for a successful growing season. They also helped them construct a storage shed where they can keep the produce for later consumption.

With SayPro, we found 70 individuals who were willing to grow their own food to share among themselves and neighbours. We trained them on the importance of nutrition, planting, harvesting and storing. We also provided them with required tools for proper cultivation that made sure that they will be able to produce enough quantity of food for themselves. The goal of SayPro Youth Project is to make sure that everybody living in Diepsloot has the opportunity to eat nutritious food that isn’t contaminated with harmful chemicals. Team members consult with participants on best ways to grow a variety of crops, and then provide proper guidance and support as they harvest their crops. Finally, they organize food distributions so that every resident can take home fresh produce.
