Role Overview

IPPF is seeking a professional who is skilled in facilitation and with significant experience in supporting SGBV programs in stable and fragile contexts to help design and moderate a two-day internal meeting on IPPF’s SGBV strategy and direction.

Role Objectives

The consultant will support the agenda development and design of a 2-day workshop in concert with IPPF staff and facilitate a two-day meeting. The meeting will involve IPPF staff that work across the Secretariat as well as partner associations.

Duties and Responsibilities

The aim of this GBV meeting is to:

  • better understand and map SGBV across the federation (in development and humanitarian spaces).
  • enhance teambuilding.
  • identify SGBV ‘’nexus’’ areas across development and humanitarian.
  • discuss vision for SGBV in 2028 Strategy and agree priorities and direction.
  • discuss technical areas of SGBV programming including screening, indicators, survivor agency and language and agree direction.
  • explore technical and strategic areas to achieve clarity and arrive at decisions on way forward.

Key Deliverables

  • Final meeting agenda and pre-work assignments, developed in collaboration with IPPF
  • Draft meeting report submitted for IPPF comments
  • Final meeting report including agreed recommendations and actions

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field (social work, health, gender, human rights, development studies)
  • Advanced experience of working on intersections between gender equality and SRHR
  • Skilled facilitation course or training a plus
  • Significant demonstrated experience implementing GBV programming in development and humanitarian settings preferred

Competencies, Skills, and Experience

  • An excellent understanding of GBV core principles and survivor-centred programming and prevention and response efforts;
  • Understanding of the need for principles and guidance that empower and protect survivors;
  • Understanding of importance of evidence-based programming for GBV;
  • Experience in both humanitarian and development settings/nexus
  • Experienced at facilitating meetings and ensuring voices are heard but do not dominate;
  • Experience in leading meetings towards action points and decision-making;
  • Excellent time-management skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to create an environment of collegiality, mutual respect and learning;
  • Understanding of IPPF’s anti-racism/decolonising commitment and ability to ensure this is reflected in the meeting.
