ICLA Project Manager Burkina Faso, Dori
NRC’s operations in both Burkina Faso and Niger began in 2019. Projects include education, shelter, WASH, livelihoods, legal protection (ICLA) and food security. The operational contexts present significant legal protection needs for vulnerable displaced populations and host communities, in terms of their access to civil documentation and housing, land and property rights.
NRC Burkina Faso is looking for a talented, motivated and qualified Project Manager who will actively contribute to the realization of NRC’s vision of creating a sustainable environment where IDPs, refugees and vulnerable host communities can better exercise their rights.
The ICLA PM will ensure that projects are managed and monitored carefully. They will ensure that project reports are prepared on time and submitted to CO for onward submission to donors.

Role and responsibilities
- Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
- Line management of project staff and responsible for staff recruitment.
- Contribute to the development of Country, Area and ICLA strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant ICLA projects
- Coordinate and manage ICLA project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements.
- Provide technical direction to ICLA team, and ensure high quality of projects.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the ICLA Specialist, highlight operational successes and challenges.
- Ensure that projects targets beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and assess better ways to assist.
- Develop and manage project budget, in cooperation with the Area Manager and ICLA Coordinators.
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
- Promote the rights of displaced persons in line with the advocacy strategy.
- Identify and implement appropriate intervention in rural and urban contexts in coordination with others CC’s.
Competencies
- Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Law or any relevant masters in humanities.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within field of expertise.
- Technical specific knowledge from the humanitarian sector.
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Experience in working independently in a results-oriented multi-tasking and multi-cultural environment.
- Experience in managing staff.
- Excellent command in Microsoft Applications.
- Documented technical competences related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
- Fluency in French, both written and verbal; knowledge of English will be a plus.
