SayPro Partnerships Management
Objective:
In line with the ICRC Iraq Strategy 2025 (and, on Partnerships and Nexus Projects) you will:
- Explore possible domains of knowledge, ideas, and expertise-exchange with new partners.
- Support the delegation in its ambition to influence the development agenda in Iraq, to ensure that the needs and concerns of conflict-affected populations and protection issues are factored into decisions taken on development issues.
- Identify ICRC needs-based and mandate-pertinent activities that could be of interest to non- traditional donors and facilitate Resource Mobilisation efforts in securing such support.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Develops a strong understanding of the humanitarian/development Nexus landscape in Iraq (stakeholders, their interests and priorities, ongoing and future projects, trends)
- Contributes to the conceptualization of ICRC’s IQ strategy 2025, notably drafts a framework for its engagement with long term and non-traditional donors and the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, in-line with the ICRC strategy roadmap.
- With the support of the management, acts as the focal point for select in-country partners, identifying areas of mutual interests and needs, building relations and developing narratives.
- Engage internally with colleagues from different units, raising awareness on partnering as an institutional priority and providing guidance on new institutional tools and processes.
- Ensures that the partnerships framework is aligned with wider frameworks, communicated, and understood by internal stakeholders, by liaising with relevant colleagues and utilizing their feedback.
- Develops strategies and action plans for convening and deepening knowledge, furthering information exchanges: e.g., technical workshop, peer exchanges, country-specific exchanges.
- Based on ICRC humanitarian diplomacy priorities and contextual assessments, defines and drives the influencing strategy of the delegation on the policy agenda relevant to SHI aspects, with a view to influencing notably Development Actors around institutional priority concerns.
- Acts as “the face of the ICRC in Iraq” at specific donor and external events.
- Identifies funding opportunities (in line with the framework), highlight projects that could benefit from longer term financing.
- Produces content (e.g., proposals and grant reporting) for donors.
- Produces /contributes content for donors, in close alignment with the Resource Mobilization teams of North Africa and Middle East Region and relevant services.,
- Closely coordinates efforts and outreach with Resource Mobilisation regions and Centres of Expertise on engagement with new donors/ partners.
- Coordinates and liaises with the necessary internal and external actors to increase the surface of engagement and a multifaceted approach to partnerships.
- Manages and supervises the field officers in Iraq Delegation.
Education and Professional Experience required:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in international relations, development, business administration, social science, or a related field an asset; Bachelor’s degree required.
- 6-9 years of overall work experience.
- Experience working in complex, cross-team projects effectively and efficiently with multiple priorities. Experience of the functioning of the humanitarian and development communities, including understanding of the narratives and trends. Experience in representing the ICRC to donors either in the field or HQ an asset.
- Fluent command of English is required and Native speaker or fluency of Arabic.
- Computer proficiency.
