Company Policies
A methodical system of rules and principles for guiding decisions and achieving sensible outcomes is known as Policy. It is a declaration of being focused and is applied as a protocol or procedure. These are usually approved by a governance body of an organization.
Some Workplace Policies include at-will employment, classification of Employment, Break and Meal periods, Health and Safety, non-discrimination and Anti-harassment, time off and Leave benefits, Pay and Timekeeping, punctuality, attendance, employee conduct, etc.
An organization’s Employment Policies must obey the South African labour law, and not disrupt the workers rights. Though, they are enforceable if enlisted and applied correctly, and form a valuable tool in defending the interests of the firm.
The company policies should every firm have been the policy of Equal opportunity, Workplace safety and health, worker code of conduct policy. Time off and vacation policies, Attendance, etc. Although it is not required by law, the owner should make all struggle to get signed handbook from all workers when initially hired.
