The Regional M&E Office will provide technical support to the NRC’s monitoring and evaluation efforts. This includes supporting M&E Data Reporting and Visualization Systems for the East Africa and Yemen Regional office, as well as the the implementation of NRC M&E standards, systems and practices to produce, measure and demonstrate improvements in programme performance and inform evidence-based decision making.

Generic responsibilities

  1. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
  2. Support and contribute to the development and implementation of M&E systems, including M&E tools and guidance material.
  3. Support programme staff in planning for and executing M&E activities, including, data collection methodology and tools and data management
  4. Manage and support data analysis, visualization and presentation activities
  5. Contribute to organisational learning through supporting specific analysis, lessons learned and reports
  6. Support the implementation, dissemination and use of evaluations, assessments and monitoring data in programme development, adjustment or review.
  7. Assist in the capacity building and training of staff members on M&E technical and conceptual areas
  8. Oversee or support data management and development of clear information flows between programme and M+E staff, as needed

Specific responsibilities

  • Design, development and maintenance of dashboards in Microsoft PowerBI
  • Support dashboard users, including training on use and development of PowerBI dashboards
  • Support and contribute to the development of data management and visualization systems and products, including the development of documentation, training and online / in-person support
  • Participate in the development, implementation and support of M&E-related in-house web based digital systems and products
  • Management and troubleshooting of regional online data reporting systems
  • Liaise with CO’s to determine opportunities for innovation, and improvement of existing M&E tools and products
  • Keep abreast with emerging trends by participating in, and contributing to innovation workshops/seminars and brief the RO teams accordingly
  • Participate in development of guidance and frameworks for CO procedures, policies and processes that assist in institutionalizing and supporting M&E, both at regional and country levels.
  • Carry out any other tasks as shall be assigned by the supervisor

Generic professional competencies for this position:

  • Minimum 3 years of M&E experience in a humanitarian/recovery context, preferably including M&E capacity and systems development
  • Specialist in Power BI and data visualization
  • Knowledge of mobile data collection and statistical analysis tools is required
  • Good working knowledge in Microsoft Power Platform especially in PowerApps, Power Automate, Sharepoint will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of PHP and/or other scripting languages will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in building and supporting mobile apps will be an added advantage
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

Context related skills, knowledge and experience :

  • Knowledge of the context in the East Africa & Yemen Region
