For more information, please visit www.dzi.org.dZi is a growing organization that is planning to increase its reach and maximize its impact in eastern Nepal. To do so, we are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Nepali Professional for the following position.Job Summary:Construction technician will work closely with dZi team to implement, supervise, and support construction of rural water supply and other small infrastructure projects. S/he will be responsible for surveying, ensuring quality implementation and technical orientation while assisting in facilitation of community members to execute of construction activities. The position will be stationed at communities where dZi works and report overall updates to District /Rural Municipality Coordinator however, sole technical issues should be directly informed to the Infrastructure Manager (Engineer).Duties and Responsibilities:Assist program to carryout construction needs assessment for small scaleinfrastructures for improving the access for community’s member.Lead the survey and technical information collection of infrastructures in an organization template and form.Supervision of the construction activity that is implemented by the organization.Provide technical ideas for developing a cost effective and locally proven design of infrastructures which suits the needs of communities.Provide technical orientation and training on the design/ drawings and other support to the construction/ users committee and workers involved in construction as per need.Ensure that materials and equipment required in the field for the construction of are well receipt, stored and delivered safely on the site.Prepare reports needed on a timely basis of all activities in given formats as required.Work closely with all the team members of the district.Required Qualifications:Education:At least Civil sub-overseer (Technical School Leaving Certificate, T-SLC of construction)Prior Work Experience:At least 2 years of experience working with I/NGO in water supply system monitoring and supervision.Prior work experience in other small infrastructure projects (truss bridge, irrigation, community/ school building) will be an advantage.Skill and Abilities:Ability to work under pressure with an ethnically diverse team and communities in a sensitive environment.Knowledge and skills in plumbing and construction of rural water supply systems.Community mobilization, motivation, and communication skills.Ability to ensure the quality of work at sites as per the design specification and engineering norms/ standards.Willing towork, station and move in between any dZi working area as per need.Ability to implement and supervise small infrastructures related activities.Support to ensure timely construction with quality, accuracy of survey and within estimated budget.Ability to train and coach construction/ users committee, workers on design, estimation of infrastructures.Foster dZi values and organizational culture of equity, empowerment, and opportunity for all with all stakeholders.Application Process:Interested Candidates are requested to submit their application through this google form  email vacancy@dzi.org with the title ‘Application for Construction Technician’ if you have any issues with the google form.Applications will be received until September 22, 2022 (5 PM Nepal time).Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for further process.Telephone inquiries will not be entertained.Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and as per policy.dZi Foundation Nepal reserves all the rights to reject any or all applications without assigning any reasons.Equal Employment Opportunity:dZi Foundation Nepal is an equal opportunity employer.
