Course: Fundamental Nursing Science
Assessment criteria associated with Specific Outcomes:
1. Consistently apply the nursing process while rendering basic nursing care, based on health needs/problems, to the individual, family, group and community, within the ethical legal framework of the Enrolled Nurse (General Nurse).
2. Confidently render comprehensive nursing care according to the Scope of practice of the Enrolled Nurse and as a member of the health care team under the direct or indirect supervision of the registered nurse.
3. Give accurate health education to the individual, family, group and community as part of a dynamic multi factorial society by utilising the principles of education and training.
4. Safely maintain the health of patients by utilising the scientific nursing approach in meeting the specific health needs/problems of the individual, group, family and community.

Course: Applied Nutrition
Assessment criteria associated with Specific Outcomes:
1. Apply the acquired knowledge of basic nutrition when nursing patients of all age groups and different cultural, and religious backgrounds, with specific nutritional needs and problems.

Course: Unit Organisation and Professional Practice
Assessment criteria associated with Specific Outcomes:
1. Appropriately utilise management principles for utilisation of human and material resources while rendering nursing care to ensure a safe environment for personnel and patient.
2. Demonstrate an appropriate understanding of the concept PROFESSIONALISM.
The application thereof in the practice of the Enrolled Nurse;
Abidance by the ethical, moral and legal codes of the profession and the community.
3. Safely maintain the environment of the patient during provision of comprehensive nursing care within the ethical legal framework of the Enrolled Nurse.
4. Practice safe nursing care where ethical decisions are made according to the ethical legal framework of the Enrolled Nurse.
5. Correctly apply the principles of management in the rendering of cost effective quality nursing care.

Course: Enrolled Nurse (General Nursing)
Assessment criteria associated with Critical Cross-Field Outcomes:
1. Render competent nursing care for patients with specific health needs/problems, taking into consideration the physical, psychological, spiritual and religious needs of the individual, group, family and community, within the ethical and legal framework of the profession, according to the Scope of practice of the Enrolled Nurse (General Nursing) as a member of the health team.
2. Systematically utilise a scientific nursing approach while rendering nursing care to the individual, group, family and community with specific health needs/problems of all the systems throughout the life span and as member of the health team.
3. Give accurate health education to the individual group, family and community regarding specific health needs/problems taking the diversity of the community into account.
4. Apply appropriate ward organisation principles in rendering cost-effective, quality nursing care.
5. Accurately apply principles of administration of medication for specific health needs/problems.
