The qualifying learner:
1.
Understands concepts, theoretical perspectives and theories of Adult Basic Education and Training.
Is able to analyse these concepts, theoretical perspectives and theories.
2.
Demonstrates competencies to perform as an education, training and development practitioner in the field of Adult Learning.
Facilitates literacy and numeracy at ABET levels 3 and 4.
Facilitates learning effectively in a range of different and diverse learning situations.
Is able to manage ABET projects.
3.
Designs learning programmes and related learning materials appropriate for targeted learners.
Devises interventions for learners who have special needs.
4.
Uses theoretical knowledge to analyse and evaluate ABET policy and programmes within organisations.
Uses theoretical knowledge to design quality learning programmes and assessment tasks appropriate for targeted learners.
Integrated Assessment:
Integrated assessment is performed on a continuous basis. Assessment procedures include substantial continuous assessment comprising written assignments, oral assessments and presentations and portfolio presentations. Examinations at the end of each module assess the understanding of content, applicability of terms, and theoretical perspectives.
