JUSTICE EDUCATION SOCIETY (JES)  Justice Education Society of British Columbia (JES) is a non-profit organization with over 30 years of experience in public legal education and capacity building of the judice system in Canada and around the world. Internationally, JES projects respond to the needs of local stakeholders working with national institutions and local organizations to increase access to justice and improve citizen security. THE PROJECT  Funded by USAID’s MujerProspera Challenge, the Justice Education Society, in collaboration with Fundación Sobrevivientes (FS), is implementing a 14-month project (“Empowerment, Gender Equality and Economic Security for Women Survivors of Violence in Huehuetenango, San Marcos y Retalhuleu”), which will address and respond to the barriers to economic prosperity and security faced by women survivors of violence in Guatemala, including trans women, Indigenous women, and women with disabilities, and who represents one most vulnerable population in the country. The project will adopt an integrated and holistic approach to economic development for women survivors, combining psychological support, technical skills development, and public legal education and information, and entrepreneurship workshops.   3. THE POSITION  The Project Officer, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) will provide support to the Project Manager and project team in the overall planning, design, implementation, and delivery of the project. The position will be responsible for the ongoing monitoring, evaluation and learning activities to ensure that data compiling and reporting requirements are fulfilled, and targets are on-track along the cycle of the project, contributing to ensure the efficient and effective performance of all activities. The Project Officer will also provide logistical, technical and administrative support.   Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the person will work in collaboration with all members of the project, including the Project Director, the JES team in Vancouver and Fundación Sobrevivientes in Guatemala. The person will follow and use established policies, tools, timelines, and resources in accordance with donor and JES requirements.  4. DUTIES  Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning  The position will be responsible for leading the following tasks:  ● Leads and oversees the implementation of the project’s monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) activities and data reporting to ensure that all MEL requirements are fulfilled along the cycle of the project  ● Develops project MEL plan (gender-sensitive indicators, targets, sources, data collection etc.) and tools (surveys, database, etc.) in collaboration with the Project Manager and Project Director, according to USAID requirements.  ● Collects disaggregated data in proper databases (participants information, outputs, progress on and towards outcomes).  ● Develops content (life stories, articles, videos, etc.) on the impact of project interventions in relation to successful experiences in the reception, research, preparation and presentation of cases to combat human trafficking.  ● Integrates gender-responsive quantitative and qualitative data to measure impact and monitor the progress of project indicators.  ● Co-develops with JES and FS team pre, post and 3-month after surveys and tests, in digital and paper format, to measure the impact of the project  ● Ensures proper completion and compilation of surveys, following up with counterparts, as necessary.  ● Participates in the development and implementation of mechanisms for evaluating activities with counterparts using gender-sensitive analysis.  ● Identifies, prepares and interviews key actors to document successful practices and success story, in coordination with the technical team.  ● Prepares statistical reports and assists in the preparation of progress reports for the donor.   ● Ensures proper filing of data, results, and reports in physical and/or digital formats.  ● Documents progress and results on changes that occurred, as well as lessons learned and recommendations for the future.**  Technical and operational support  ● Supports the participants in the registration process for courses and workshops.  ● Supports the planning and implementation of courses, workshops, and other project activities, in-person and virtually.  ● Participates in the review, design and adaptation of training materials for the different modalities and platforms with the JES team and experts, as well as in the implementation of the training activities, as needed.  ● Helps organize and coordinates events, workshops and trainings.  ● Supports the preparation of technical missions required during the execution of the project.  ● Documents activities of the project through videos, photos and reports, compiling the observations and testimonies of the participants.  ● Responsible for coordinating and negotiating with suppliers for the goods and services required for the project based on principles of competition and transparency in compliance with JES policy  ● Provides support in various administrative and logistical tasks.   ● Other tasks assigned within the framework of the project.  5. PROFILE **  Education  ● University degree or equivalent in sociology, social sciences, economy, education, international development, business, law, or related fields.  Professional Experience, Competences, Skills **  ● 3 to 7 years of experience in conducting and coordinating monitoring and evaluation activities, ideally for gender-focused and/or justice-focused projects.  ● Experience in compiling and analyzing data.   ● Excellent writing ability to create concise reports.   ● Advanced level of Spanish in writing and conversation.  ● Capacity to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.  ● Proactive attitude.  ● Proven management of databases and information processing tools, including MS Excel.  ● Advanced and verifiable computer skills: Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.  ● Ability to work remotely; knowledge of and experience using video conferencing technologies (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google meets).  ● Ability to work under pressure.  ● Ability to speak and write in English (basic level).  ● Ethical conduct and ability to maintain confidentiality.  ● Ability to work and live in Guatemala.  ● Ability and willingness to travel in various regions of Guatemala.  Desirable  ● Experience working in projects focusing on gender equity and inclusivity and/or economic empowerment.  ● Knowledge of barriers facing women and LGBTQI community in gaining employment and economic independence.   ● Experience working on USAID-funded projects and/or other international donors.   ● Experience conducting MEL for adult training, courses and/or workshops.  ● Experience working with survivors of violence.  6.
