        1. Do the learners demonstrate knowledge and ability to identify, think through and solve problems in the field of the French language and culture by applying relevant theoretical principles? Can they reflect on the application made?
  1. Are the learners able to plan and carry out research independently in the field of the French language and culture, including the gathering, synthesis and interpretation of information or subjects relating on this field. Are learners able to conduct research honestly and correctly by using the relevant theoretical research principles and reflecting on the research undertaken?
  2. Can learners communicate effectively, clearly and accurately in French, orally and in writing on a high scientific level? Can they reflect on their own communication?
  3. Have the learners developed a macro vision of the importance of French as an African and international language?
  4. Do learners display a high level cultural and aesthetic sensitivity in the field of the French language and culture, as well as a cross-cultural sensitivity?
  5. Can the learners utilise the appropriate technology (computer, wordbanks etc) for language practitioners efficiently?
  6. Can learners participate effectively in group situations, with a clear focus on their own clients?
  7. Do learners demonstrate a superior capacity to make use of opportunities effectively and responsibly in the field of research on the French language and culture and accept responsibility for their own activities in this field?
  8. Are the learners able to explore different efficient high-level learning and research strategies to acquire sufficient knowledge in the field of the French language and culture?
  9. Are the learners able to promote responsible citizenship through the intelligent mastery of discourse and can they reflect critically on the use thereof?
  10. Do the learners demonstrate acceptable employment-seeking skills for the entry into professional bodies at senior levels where knowledge of the French language and culture is needed?
  11. Are the learners able to organise their activities, to demonstrate high level theoretical and research skills, to assess their strengths and weaknesses organisational skills efficiently?

Integrated Assessment:
Formative assessment practices that will be implemented:
1. The learner will present two or more seminars to a group of qualified specialists in the chosen field who will check, control and mentor methodology, ideas and formulation.
2. Regular meetings for critical discussion of the text of the thesis with the director will ensure that progress, assessment and control are continuous.
3. It is expected that the learners and other researchers in his/her field to test and expand ideas.
4. The promoter will as far as possible encourage learners to attend conferences on subjects related to his/her field of research, when available

Summative assessment practices that will be implemented:
The learner has to submit a thesis that will be examined by the promoter and two external examiners from reputable higher education institutions. Every learner must submit two articles that are ready for publication. Actual acceptance of the articles is not a condition for receiving the qualification. The learner must also present two formal seminars on his/her research findings. The learner writes two doctoral examination papers, for which he/she must obtain a minimum mark of 50%. If he/she fails the summative assessment task, he/she may sit for the assessment task in the second time only with special permission of the Senate.
