Job Description

Core SayPro: Develop and implement the policy for the Executive Mayor in order to ensure compliance with legislation Guide the Executive Mayor, its Committees and officials to execute their function within the parameters of the prescribed legislation Introduce measures to ensure that all roles players are informed regarding the applicable legislation in the execution of their functions Monitor and analyse the decision making process of the Executive Mayor, Mayoral and other Executive Committees and officials to ensure that decisions are correctly taken within the parameters of the law Provide an information service to all role-players pertaining to the legal functions, rights and obligations of the Executive Mayor Render legal advice to the Executive Mayor, Mayoral and other Executive Committees, and officials pertaining to the execution of their delegated powers Provide support in the tracking of Mayoral and Council resolutions and related responsibilities Qualifications Minimum Requirements: B Degree or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification in a legal field Sound knowledge of the relevant legislation that govern employment practices, service delivery, financial management i.e. MFMA, LRA, MSA and 6 years’ in a similar environment of which 4 was in a supervisory/ specialist level In-depth understanding of government strategic thinking Negotiation skills Leadership skills Communication skills Analytical skills and Organisational skills Project management skills
