SayPro is pleased to share the latest results of our annual child poverty data analysis. This year’s report shows that children in settings legally operating without regulation are more likely to be served by relatives than non-relatives. SayPro has also partnered with the United States Department of Labor to evaluate the impact of its Enhanced Transitional Jobs (ETJ) program on increasing employment. The ETJ demonstration aims to provide subsidized jobs and training to adults who have been unemployed for at least two years, and would benefit most from a job and training program.

In the United States, children attending childcare centers or taking care of their siblings while their parents work are often referred to as ‘working’ kids. Yet, in many cases, these children are not being taken care of by relatives or family friends but rather by people other than their parents.

According to a recent report by World Vision, as many as 3.5 million children who maybe staying with relatives on a regular basis in the US, who may be staying with them temporarily due to financial constraints or may even be living there permanently without being enlisted by the parent.

These ‘working’ children are often seriously under-protected and need continuous protection from the predators lurking around them all the time. SayPro has made it easy for families to hire and train staff to take care of children at home safely and effectively. In 2014 alone, SayPro served over 10,000 families across America who were seeking childcare services for their daughters and sons.

If you have been following us on Twitter, you already know that we are most excited about the Enhanced Transitional Jobs Demonstration. This new program will help some of the most disadvantaged Americans find meaningful employment. It will improve their lives and give them a chance at a more stable future.

We have had great success with SayPro in the past, but we think that this new program has the potential to change many lives for the better. We are proud to be a part of it and to be able to offer our clients such an effective solution to their employment needs.
