The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate is to promote and protect durable solutions to conflict and displacement affected populations on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights.

DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 250 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2022 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.

About the job:

Information Management Officer will be responsible for reporting, archiving, and provision of support while data collection, analysis, and cleaning. Coordinating with DRC field and programme staff to support all information management and monitoring needs.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Maintain and manage data collection tools for DRC’s activities and beneficiaries;
  • Support the registration of activities and beneficiaries in the database;
  • Support Team Leaders in technical application of databases in instances where the data entry is undertaken by programme staff;
  • Managing DRC power BI dashboard for protection data.
  • Support programme colleagues in case of any technical difficulties or questions regarding databases and Information Management (IM) in general; provide trainings for colleagues on how to use data collection tools;
  • Generate monitoring reports; contribute to the formatting and development of documents regarding collected data;
  • Support the coding of online tools and Kobo/ODK forms.
  • Perform data quality checks of databases on a weekly basis, reporting any issues and changes to the IM Coordinator/Manager or IT Team Leader.
  • Ensure information regarding beneficiaries is consolidated and is up-to-date; identify missing data and follow up with Team Leaders.
  • Support the IM Coordinator in developing a Country Office’s unified database.
  • Support in providing beneficiary lists and data for monitoring activities, including Post-distribution monitoring and evaluation reports; keep all data protected and confidential.
  • Support the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Unit in its data collection and data processing activities

To be successful in this role we expect you to have minimum 1-2 year’s relevant experience at the national or international level in information management, database management, mapping and web development.

Required experience and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Statistics, Social Sciences or a relevant field – or equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, and knowledge of at least one platform database;
  • Familiarity with Kobo Data collection/ODK forms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PIM (protection Information Management) is a strong asset.
  • Basic data analysis experience and knowledge.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Fluency in Ukrainian.

We offer

Contract: Until December 2022, with possibility of an extension, depending on funding and performance.

Salary at Band H non-managerial and conditions in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National Staff.

Duty station: Kyiv
