SayPro Malaria Advisory, USAID/Sierra Leone Integrated Health Services Activity (SIHSA)

Saypro is a malaria advisory service offered by USAID/Sierra Leone Integrated Health Services Activity (SIHSA) that uses text messages, phone calls, and web forum to provide information about preventive measures against malaria and health conditions that can be associated with the disease.

By helping reduce the spread of malaria in Sierra Leone, USAID supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by supporting global health systems and programs that help meet its goals for quality healthcare, quality education, and safer water supplies. Saypro is one step forward toward achieving this goal in Sierra Leone by empowering local communities to take control of their health.

Today, malaria is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in Sierra Leone and other West African countries. Saypro is a solution that offers reliable diagnosis and effective treatment to malaria patients. Supported by USAID/Sierra Leone Integrated Health Services Activity (SIHSA), Saypro aims at improving access to quality health care for all persons living in Sierra Leone and adjacent countries. Saypro has been instrumental in ensuring that villagers across Sierra Leone have access to accurate information on malaria as well as receiving convenient diagnostic services from trained field staff.

SayPro is an innovative malaria advisory, USAID-funded in Sierra Leone. SIHSA is a new health program on Sierre Leone designed to provide integrated healthcare services for the most vulnerable populations. SayPro works closely with SIHSA to ensure that malaria is being addressed by the health system and patients are receiving treatment.

SayPro aims to make it easier for health providers and patients alike to access information about malaria risks, symptoms and treatments. We hope that through SayPro’s efforts, we will be able to reduce the number of people who die from malaria each year in Sierra Leone!

Developing countries like Sierra Leone aren’t immune to the threat of malaria. That’s why SayPro is here to help with its Malaria Advisory and USAID/Sierra Leone Integrated Health Services Activity. Through advisory services and health information, SayPro is working to improve the health of people in Sierra Leone by teaching them about preventing and controlling this disease.

USAID/Sierra Leone has also been working hard over the past few years to implement SIHSA, a program that aims to provide integrated care for pregnant women, children, men and women living with HIV who are at high-risk of malaria and other diseases. With these efforts combined, we’re making sure that all those who need it have access to quality health care in Sierra Leone!
