Profile and select goods at a port of entry115315 Profile and select goods at a port of entryPURPOSE OF SAYPROThis SERVICEs will enable qualifying Staffs to control the movement of goods at a port of entry through profiling and selection.Specific Outcomes and PART OF ACTIVITES PREVIOUSLY IMPLEMENTED BY SAYPRO:Profiling of documents to detect the illegal movement of goods.PART OF ACTIVITES PREVIOUSLY IMPLEMENTED BY SAYPROThe import and export processes and procedures are explained according to prescribed legislation.The interpretation of the contents of the import and export documentation are interpreted according to procedures.Documentation is examined for alterations or fraudulent changes to determine the authenticity thereof.All particulars are noted to be correctly recorded on documentation and is compared with the declared goods.Documents as prescribed in the:Customs and Excise Act,Import and Export ActProfiling can take place at ports of entry located at seaports, airport or landports during day or nightDocumentation is examined to establish that all particulars are recorded which is relevant to the declaration of the goods.Profiling of commercial goods.The interpretation of the contents of the import and export documentation are examined in line with the import and export procedures.Documentation is examined to determine the authenticity thereof according to organizational procedures.Profiling of non-commercial goods.The quantity and type of baggage carried by persons is examined in relation to the time period indicated on the travel documents.The content of the baggage is inspected to determined the reason of travel.Examinations are conducted in terms of relevant legislation and set procedures.The goods declared are inspected in relation with the distance traveled.Profiling of routes and determine country of origin.Countries from/to which goods are imported/exported are profiled to prevent smuggling according to organizational procedures.Travel records of goods are verified to determine the origin and destination according to the import/export procedures.Consignee and notifying addresses are traced to determine if the addresses reflected on the transport documentation is authentic according to organizational procedures.Irregularities determined during profiling is referred to the relevant organisation for investigation in terms of set procedures.Expected Outcomes from previous Projects Implemented:High emphasis is placed on problem solving ability during exercises.
