SayPro project was started by Diepsloot Youth Project to empower the young and disadvantaged individuals who have no access to proper education or employment. It teaches them skills such as sewing, tailoring, finance and many more that would help them get a job or start their own business.

The shelter was conceptualized by 3 women from various backgrounds and held ground due to their undying will to change society for the better.

SayPro is a youth empowerment project that runs from the Diepsloot township near Johannesburg. The only shelter of its kind in the area, SayPro provides accommodation and basic amenities to children, women and men who are in need of it. We offer them love and care, as well as guidance and mentorship so that they can become strong, confident individuals who can stand on their own feet and make a life for themselves.

In an area where female-in-matrimony violence is rampant, SayPro is the only sanctuary that offers a refuge for women in distress. The inability to divorce or get help from authorities results in high incidence of female-in-matrimony violence. But at SayPro, women find shelter and peace of mind.
