Job Summary This position is in support of the general accounting function for both Global Ministries and UMCOR with a focus on account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and monthly journal entries. Essential Job Functions Responsible for monthly reconciliation of various bank account for both Global Ministries and UMCOR. Reconciliation of specific General Ledger accounts designated by Director of Financial Reporting and in support of Sr. Accounting for both Global Ministries and UMCOR Write up of monthly and annual journal entries to record transactions impacting books for Global Ministries and UMCOR Analyze gift returns monthly and initiate repayment vouchers Maintain and reconcile the Missionary Travel and Itineration Advance accounts Create, issue, and track quarterly billing statements for Conference Share and CCW Field share Perform other duties as assigned Major Accountabilities Ensure all accounts assigned are reconciled monthly and associated journal entries are posted timely and accurately. Assist Sr. Accountant and Director of Financial Reporting in areas assigned Education and Experience BA or equivalent in Accounting, Finance with General Ledger accounting. One(1) to Three(3) years of relevant Accounting experience is required. Competencies, Job Requirements and Other Specialized Knowledge Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written communication. Fundamental understanding of GAAP. May require work outside of standard business hours (to include weekends), particularly during peak unit season. Sedentary office/computer/keyboarding/meeting work for extended periods of time. Under the leadership of the Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for general accounting and reconciliation of inventories. S/he performs recording, analysis, assure proper understanding and reporting of financial data. SayPro State Accountant Budget
Key Duties and Responsibilities : Consolidate and prepare financial supporting information for completion of thebudgeting process (MTEF). Coordinate the process of monitoring of cash flow,revenue and expenditure (departmental spending) and report on budgetdeviations (variances) to the supervisor on a regular basis. Facilitate theprocess of budget shifts and virements and prepare requests to submit to theManager. Facilitate the process of the loading of departmental budget (MTEF),adjustment budget estimates (AEPRE) and budget shifts/ virements in the BASSystem. Monitor any under/ overspending related to expenditure and report tothe Manager on a regular basis. Compile and verify the accuracy of In-YearMonitoring (IYM) reports monthly and quarterly and submit to the Manager forreview. Analyse budget inputs from parastatals. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare journals to correct monthly allocation and creditors’ reconciliation.Clearing of Suspense and Control Accounts. Assist with preparation andcapturing of budget and payment on BAS and LOGIS. Ensure safekeeping ofrecords for audit purposes. Ensure compliance with Treasury Regulations interms of Public Finance Management Act, section 40 reporting. Capturing offinal payments related transactions on PERSAL and on the FinancialManagement System.
