Job Description
Minimum Requirements: National Diploma (NQF level 6) within the building industry; 1-3 years experience within Building Industry. Must have a valid drivers license; In-depth knowledge of Outdoor Advertising By-Laws; Knowledge of National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act 103 of 1977; and Basic knowledge of Advertising Signs and Hoarding By-Laws. Primary Function: Assess and evaluate applications for advertising signs and cellular masts to ensure compliance with the outdoor advertising by-laws and the National Building Regulations and Standards Act, No. 103 1997. Key Performance Areas: Perform proper evaluations of Cell Masts and Outdoor Advertising applications. Attend to complaints received on posters and signs deemed to be unlawful. Maintaining information. Perform various ad-hoc duties delegated by the Operations Manager from time to time. Liaise with other internal departments within the Council, MEs and with other tiers of government (provincial and national level). Make and forward inputs on work improvements to the Operational Manager. Leading Competencies: Deadline and turn over driven.; Interpretation of technical drawings and outdoor advertising By-Laws and Policies. Core Competencies: Computer literacy (MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel); Good written and verbal communication; Project management; Good consulting and interpersonal skills; Problem solving; Good presentation; Coordinating and time management skills.
