 Position Summary: The Biomedical Technician’s primary responsibility is to assure the proper functioning of biomedical equipment, and to assist with the maintenance and repairs of other equipment at The Institut. As with all positions at The Institut, this role contributes to our efforts to uphold our mission, vision, and values. This position reports to the Administrator/Director of The Institut and works closely with the Medical Director and maintenance team. Learn more at www.thebsf.ca and www.facebook.com/ibshaiti Key responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of other equipment Assist with the planning for and procurement of new equipment, parts, and supplies Develop and communicate best practices for equipment use Develop the technical capacity of direct report(s) Complete tasks and provide reports in a timely manner Respond to unplanned equipment repair needs in a timely manner Work in close collaboration with the maintenance team and clinical team Work in effective and respectful manner with all staff, partners, and patients Realize other tasks related to these primary responsibilities, as assigned by the Medical Director or the Administrator / Director Qualifications: Previous experience as a biomedical technician Training in a biomedical technician program (certificate or degree program preferred) Capacity to manage an equipment database (Microsoft Excel or equivalent program) Management experience (preferred) Communication language: French / Haitian Creole (preferred), Spanish, or English.
