The Victorian National Parks Association (VNPA) is an independent non-government, membership organisation and one of Victoria’s most effective and established conservation groups.  Established in 1952 to promote and protect national parks VNPA play a leading role in the development of Victoria’s nature reserve system and conservation policy.  VNPA relies predominantly on philanthropy and income from fundraising and membership programs and over the years have developed a very loyal, generous and engaged donor base.

The Role
  
The philanthropy executive is a newly created position responsible for further developing and delivering VNPA’s bequest and mid-level donor programs.  As part of the new endowment campaign, you will report into and work collaboratively with the fundraising manager to develop, promote and drive growth, maximising donor loyalty and income. 
As part of your functions you will;

  • Steward donors, managing the relationship and linkage to VNPA for the long term
  • Manage a portfolio of donors, designing and implementing strategies
  • Be the first point of contact for all bequest enquiries and requests
  • Ensure bequest program targets are achieved
  • Monitor income and report on income targets and strategic plan goals
  • Regularly review and enhance bequest materials and communications
  • Maintain accurate database records and maintain fundraising files

Skills Required
  
This role would be suited to a relationship focused fundraiser who has managed mid-value gifts and bequests in a fundraising and preferably advocacy-based environment.
  
You will be:

  • Successful at or exposed to implementing mid-level donor, bequest and endowments
  • Personable, skilled at building and maintaining supporter relationships
  • Confident and comfortable in your approach to relationships and ‘making the ask’
  • An exceptional writer, able to present compelling proposals
  • Able to self direct and work collaboratively within the team
  • Someone who appreciates nature and conservation
