Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: National Diploma in Public Management or Administration or Public Health or NQF Level 6 Environmental/ Waste Management Code EB Driver’s License Five (5) year in local government Two (2) years on a supervisory level Computer literate KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS: INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING Lead, inspire and manage the Community Services Team to achieve the outcomes identified in Council’s Strategic Plans; and other Recreational Space Strategies Ensure effective planning for the provision of high quality community services having regard to Council identified priorities and community needs. Contribute to the preparation and review of the Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan, and actively involve Community Service staff in the process. Manage and continuously improve the cost effective and efficient provision of community services with a strong customer focus and in accordance with defined Council policies and government regulations and guideline. Manage risk, budget, resources and facilities associated with Community Services, including ensuring that relevant grants and subsidies are applied for, managed, and properly acquitted. Management and coordinate all activities associated with solid waste management and the landfill sites refuse management Ensure that the necessary accreditation is achieved for all services and Community Service staff.
